We need to change the way people understand social entrepreneurship.
One might think that the development of a social enterprise is a skill limited to only a few people such as accountants, economists and people who have studied entrepreneurship.
We’ll have to help the next generation of students, whether they’re doctors, nurses or agronomist to internalize the fact that Social Entrepreneurship is not limited to a specific demographic or background. What defines a social entrepreneur is a mindset and a commitment to addressing social and environmental challenges through innovative and sustainable solutions.
Social entrepreneurship is: addressing social challenges, creating sustainable businesses, and fostering community development.
For a post secondary students it basically means:
a- Passion for social impact since the goal can’t only be financial gains but
b- Innovative thinking that can be transformed into bringing lasting positive changes into their community
c- Adaptability: a social entrepreneur needs to be resilient.
That is to say that EPIC 2024 Haiti biggest mission is to teach this generation of students that the change they’re waiting for can come from them and their aspirations to live better lives.
